CPD PARTNERS WITH CLEAR CHANNEL OUTDOOR AND CRIMELINE FOR HELP IN UNSOLVED HOMICIDE

(Cocoa, FL)—Clear Channel Outdoor has donated ad space for a billboard campaign that seeks new information in an unsolved homicide case. The company has produced a digital billboard with assistance from the Central Florida Crimeline to highlight the case of Jonte Thomas. Thomas, 37, was shot on December 9th as he drove home from the Palm Bay area. He and two friends were celebrating the Cocoa High Football team’s State Championship victory. At approximately 3 a.m., as Thomas and two others in his vehicle turned onto Mitchell Street from Fiske shots rang out. Thomas was the only one wounded. He died on May 1st as a result of the gunshot wounds he suffered in the December incident. Video from a nearby security camera captured the suspect’s vehicle which appears to be a white Nissan Altima, Maxima or a similar vehicle. A $5,000 reward is being offered through the Central Florida Crimeline. Those who provide information in the case could be eligible for cash rewards of up to $5,000 and will remain anonymous. “This investigation has been difficult and we are hoping someone comes forward with new information that can help the case along,” said Detective Anthony Colombo. “We appreciate the assistance from Clear Channel Outdoor and Crimeline. Whatever we can do to keep this case active will certainly help.”

 The billboards are part of the Clear Channel Outdoor digital network and are posted at 12 high traffic locations throughout Brevard County including Cocoa, Port Canaveral, Melbourne, Merritt Island and Rockledge. The signs will be up for several weeks.
